kind of obsessed with Tony Ward at the moment.

Notre Jour Viendra will be director Romain Gavras’ feature film debut, starring Vincent Cassel ( of La Haine fame) and Olivier Barthelemy.
From what I have managed to collect the story follows a teenage boy riddled with anger and resentment, is then rejected by his family and is desperately in search for a place to fit in. Anger, sex and psychotherapy seems to be the underlining theme here.
The studio is incredibly tight lipped with information about the film, but judging by this teaser alone, Gavras promises his usual potent blend of dark demonic human emotion and perhaps a little personal acceptance.

I’ve literally died
and gone to shop-girl heaven.
Jackie O’Brien, owner of super chic boutique Jonathan + Olivia ,has announced that the Toronto location will now stock a selection of clothing from London’s TopShop amongst it’s already drool worthy collection of labels!
Such joyous news! For I love J + O and perhaps now I can actually afford to shop amongst it’s too cool interior.
On Saturday June 19th the newly expanded J+O Ossington Avenue location will add to existing labels some of the hottest summer wears from the worlds’ coolest high street retailer. The TOPSHOP store in store will feature the TOPSHOP mainline, Unique+Boutique collections including TOPSHOP footwear. For fall 2010, TOPSHOP Kate Moss collection and the new TOPSHOP make-up line will be added
Considering the amount of chatter ripping through the internet about this fantastic new development, we can all safely assume that the next month with be quite the chaotic. But O’Brien does plan on keeping the store well stocked through out the season, promising us all a little piece of the action.

Another poetic fashion film over at Nowness.com
Where I was once quite skeptical of the website, I can honestly say now that I am a convert.
With production like this I’d be a fool not to visit every so often.Photographer -now director- Sharif Hamza’s take on the Fall 2010 Dior Homme collection is so delicate yet masculine and so completely up my aesthetic alley. Not to mention I have been a huge fan of Robbie Spencer’s styling work that it nearly borders on obsession. The creative marriage here is divine and further justifies the need for both editorial as well as fashion film.
Movement for the moment.
A still for the eternal.

Marion Cotillard and Gong Tao star in the latest Dior fashion film ‘Lady Blue’ written and directed by David Lynch. John Galliano art directs this cinematic campaign for the label’s new It-bag the ‘Lady Dior’.
The mystery of the Orient seems to be quiet the draw for major fashion houses, and Shanghai seems to be the most coveted destination, first with Chanel then Prada and now Dior.
Perhaps Africa is next? So much beauty can be tapped in too, between the rain kissed jungles and the arid deserts. An art directors dreamscape in my opinion.
I just love this Casley-Hayford Spring/Summer look book.
The African dapper with an old-world colonial twist.
Joe Casley-Hayford is certainly not a stranger to the Bespoke buisness,
and has been designing for over a decade if not more.

The blistering heat has finally fisted the shit out of this city. The streets are packed with a mix of annoyed Bay-Street Suits, hot girls in tiny denim shorts, cool boys on boards and of course the pungent aroma of rotting garbage. Since I need to buckle down and focus on a few projects, I can’t spend the day outside working on my black-girl tan, bitter I slap my fingers across these keys while listening to the stabby sounds of Die Antwoord.
Die Antwoord, meaning ‘The Answer’ in Afrikaans, is the ‘rave – rap’ group straight out of the heart of South Africa. A mangled mess of synth beats, sharp rhymes and so incredibly outrageous they border on the obscene. The trio are lead by the crazy MC Ninja, funky vocalist Yo-Landi Vi$er, with the bass heavy beats provided by DJ Hi-Tek.
The crew who claim to be straight up Zef – red-neck to the rest of us – lace their lyrics in English, Afrikaans and local street slang. In true ‘fuck you’ Po-Mo form the two videos released in support of their singles managed to create quite the internet buzz earlier this year, leaving major music camps split. Is Die Antwoord for real? Or this collective another hype-band courting youtube hits and blog rotations?
In spite of all the chatter, Interscope Records have decided to court the three-piece and their debut album titled $O$ will be out soon.

…the moment we try to do everything for ourselves, we’re becoming very mediocre in what we do, and we don’t go to extremes and we don’t touch excellence. And I prefer to touch excellence.
For the sixth installment of The Future of Fashion Q&A series, Style.com’s editor in chief Dirk Standen chats with designer and creative genius Alber Elbaz of Lanvin about the joy, turmoil, consumer cravings for instant gratification and the need for positive change in the industry.
The entire series is a must read with vast amount of insight and includes interviews with industry heavy weights like Cathryn Horyn, Hedi Slimane and Robert Duffy.

I have spent the last week a little out of the loop.
Spending large amounts of time in the quiet,
trying to clear my mind of thoughtless clutter and spend my days reading.
REAL books and everything.
Aside from the Interview Magazine’s ‘Let’s Get Lost‘ editorial that had me all in a tizzy, actually more furious than anything else, I’ve virtually been glossy free. So it was refreshing to see this lovely V magazine editorial from this month’s S/S issue pop in to my inbox this morning.
Once again model of the moment Jamie Bochert steps in front of the cameras for super duo Inez Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who also happened to shoot Bochert for the Lanvin Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. Here the stunning veteran model (along side ballet dancer James Applewhite) has been styled by Joe McKenna and decked out in dazzling acid brights and disco detailing and of course a little Miu Miu finesse for those still in lust with the kitty-cat detailing.

and of course Swedish.
Meet The Sonnets-
Malmoe’s latest contribution to music with this Ray-Ban wearing, Brideshead Revisiting, romantic synth-pop collective.
While the original track is fantabulous, I do LOVE fellow Swedes Montauk‘s remix of ‘Sebastian Said‘ linked below.
